I have finally worn my harris pole out.

Last week i entended it and the bottom piece of the first section snapped at he bottom.

But it was still ok just a couple of inche's shorter and now my clamps are not gripping properly and the top section now move's.

But i have used it everyday for about 6 months as my main pole so can't complain.

Just have to nip to B&Q tomorrow and get another 

As my harris has heat shrink on the bottom section and is still in really good condition i will put this section on the new pole.

I have one and use it all the time,do notice my hands getting a silvery colour from using it,the insides of the pole is gritty from dirt and small stones being dragged up from the hose which causes slight jamming when extending etc.,will need to wash it out,other than that it's brilliant

It is a great everyday pole, and at an un believable £15, I have one that's a year old now.
I have had to use pop bottle plastic strips to keep the clamps working, but hey! what do you want for £15.

If you put heatshrink on the bottom section it stops this.

And how much has that mere £15 spent on a cheap pole earnt you?
I have 3 Harris poles and there worth there weight in gold, if they last 6 months then profit out weighs expenditure

Yes its easy to do and only costs about £9 i think.
I can't remember for sure on the price but not a lot of money.

I did mine over the cooker and it worked just fine.

You do notice the differance with the heatshrink on though.
The pole is far more grippy, comfortable to use and a lot warmer than a naked pole.

I still have 3 harris poles on the go, one I have taken the clamps completely off and use it clampless, another with a 6ft extension fitted, and another basic pole, they still all work fine, but i am going to treat myself to a brand new one next week!! And I have a good idea for what to do with the old poles, and I will do another video to show off my new Harris super pole next week, providing it works how I think it will!! ... So watch this space

how do you use yours clampless ? is it something to do

I wore my first one out 2 weeks ago. Made it as a result of groundhog' s mega post some  months ago. It must have lasted 3 or 4 months for £15.

My third one going great. Took me 10 minutes to make the third one, I have a second one solely for con roofs etc., that gets not much wear so should last a good time.

No they are not heavy they are a 5mtr pole.

look on ebay, how to make a wfp for less than £30 or search window washers, I done a vid a while back, it is easy trust me

Hi Gary, I'm very well thanks mate. To use the harris clampless, I simply thrust the pole forwards or upwards to the height I require, I then wrap a couple of fingers around the pole hose at the base of the pole, this holds the pole up, most pole hoses seem to work, but the thicker reinforced stuff is better. I use my pole in this way when I am cleaning smaller houses where I am extending and retracting the pole reguarly as it saves time. groundhog how and what did you use as an extentsion on your harris pole?

I just used a 6ft length of unger number 1 tube, I slotted it in the end of my harris pole, and used a couple of clips from old unger end cones to hold it in place. You can see it in my video on youtube called harris pole extension. Dai has made a similar extension for his pole, he used an unger clamp for the extension which looks very good.
