I have now fitted nath mod and it works great you can slow the flo right down to 1 ltr per min if you wanted to

I will not have to have the gas set so high as i will use less water and can set the flo just how i want it

Going from cold to hot is like when you first move from ladders to W F P and you would never go back

what was the mod you made alan, was it the flow switch or the relay,  could you put a link up please..

ive used mine as bog standard and it has seemed ok but has gone out here and there, whats the advantage of the flow switch ? do you have a pic of where the wire goes to?and did you have to disconnect anything inside?

worked with hot yesterday and i must admit its better..... loved the pole getting warm too that will slow the arthirtis a bit!

where the red / yellow/ green go in to the connector and connect to red yellow you disconnect and connect the new sensor to the red yellow

just use varistream to control flo 

and turn the gas up or down to control the heat

Hi Alan do you use this mod as well as a varistream or instead. Does this unit switch on and of when the water flow is interrupted. Very interested in the system just trying to get my head around it not being the most technical person around

the heater needs over 2 lts per min to work and i wanted 1 1/2 this mod lets you do this it will go down to 1 ltr per min

so yes need the varistream aswell

This modification does not control your flow rate at all.
Its a simple sensor that detects the water flow rate and switches on the heater,..... just a switch really! But its more sensitive than the built in switch, allowing the heater to run at lower flow rates.

I fitted my Micro Switch today - it may be worth noting that the instructions doe's mention to mount it vertically.

Also, where did you get the fittings to enable you to fit the hose? What size are they?

I've got away with PTFE, and Jubilees direct to the threads - but I'm convinced it will stay water tight for long!

I think you are all bonkers to fiddle with the innards, and even more bonkers to post it on a public forum. There is a body that goes around enforcing gas safety. They are mostly concerned with rogue plumbers who are not corgi registered, but none the less undertake the work, and endanger the public.This body has very far reaching powers.

Please, please, please, don't put us onto their radar.Or at the very least if you end up with a punitive fine or a short jail sentence don't say you weren't warned.

There is another way. Use more water and adopt techniques to get the job done faster.

im on by pass works well , as for gas you can do your owne gas but not any body els

your allowed to do what you like on your own equipment as long as you are competent. nothing is unsafe
