I am guessing your in a hard water area, it does take a little getting used to as the slip is less than say fairy (thats what I used years ago) but the end result is better, you go back to the windows 4 weeks later and you will see the results.

For any fairy users I am not knocking, only say from doing it that proper liquids give a better job and also say time.

Got a free sample from supplier recently . Thought it was ok, probably a better finish than Fairy, but only marginal IMO. Certainly would'nt bother buying it, as I thought it was well overpriced, and FL does the trick as far as i'm concerned.
What is wrong with Fairy? I reckon 90% of the guys on here use it. Its cheap you can buy it anywhere and it does the job!!

i have used gg4 for the last 2 months. i used lemon fairy for around 16 years off and on. i prefer the gg4. it takes some getting used to as it is more 'runny' than water with fairy in it. there is a lot less suds. you need to be careful with your fanning method as it is less apparant that you have left a triangle in the middle of a pane. (there is no mass of tell tale suds). it is faster as you do not have suds (scum) at the side of the pane to detail with your scrim, also you can get away with wiping the sills if you are cleaning shop windows. the science of the marketing makes sense to me (but i was crap at science at school). i prefer it but it is twice the price of fairy liquid and none of my customers have run up to me with a bunch of flowers and thanked me for their extra clean windows. give it a go but don't expect miracles

gg4 is for hard water, I live in hard water area so always used gg4, I have tried gg3 and there seemed to be no difference at all apart from the colour of it, with using pure water only I guess gg3 and 4 would make little or no difference at all. And for people thinking gg4 is expensive I have had a 5 litre bottle of this stuff years and I would say it will last another 4 or 5 years odd. so in relation to fairy (which I used to use myself I dont find it more expensive) and is also a good tool when you explain to customers you do not use dish washing liquid to clean there windows you use the right tools and equipment. for anyone trying it for the first time add a little more than they say and for a few times and you will get more glide with the blade.

fl does kill your hands after a short while but the main reason why I don't like it is
when you wfp them next time or any time it takes foe ever a day to get the bubbles off

fl is to time consuming as it takes far to long to wipe up all the soapy bits on the sills & frames


WHAT IM LOOKING FOR IS.. . a soap with hardly any suds and gets the snail & caterpillar mess off
with ease less suds = quicker time = more money ?? could use tfr I suppose!!

i used to use gg4, since going wfp , i now use gg3 with ro water.

 i find you need less gg3 than gg4 if using ro water,

 agree that it does a superior job,

 when i first started to use it i noticed a slght film was being left,

 i now know this was the glass gleam, stipping of layers of fairy that i had used for years,

after 2- 3 cleans every thing was stripped of glass, it is then you see how good it is.

this makes  it ideal for use in the mths prior to going wfp,

as when i did , i had no problems,

i also use it now for first cleans, in a bucket with an applicator, then wfp after results are amazing.

it is one of those products . you have to use for a while to fully see the benefits.

after trying for years to find the the right stuff we have found what we have been
looking for by accident a non caustic tfr mixed with a neutral detergent and wow !!
when wfp afterward s it leaves no residue and an excellent finish indeed in fact we
have been using this sort off mix for years on conservatory roofs but never tried it on
windows , don't know why!! ???we have used gg3 for a good time but on testing
my own stuff is quite a bit better thanks for all the replies Edd

gg4 great stuff.

easy clear up on sills and towels last longer especially insides but you got to be patient when you first start using it.Also if you decide to start wfp on certain windows you can chop and change depending on your situation (no soap bleeding.)good stuff and makes you faster.

I've used both gg4 & gg3 and found them both good products. I now use Ettore Squiggie Off only because I can buy it dead cheap in return for doing the windows of the bloke who owns the clean supplies place.

As for 'good old Fairy'. Look at any shop window done with Fairy Liquid or similar when the sun is low or at an angle to it. It leaves a smeary film. If you do use detergent, you're better off using the cheapest (like Happy Shopper) because they contain fewer additives like silicon etc.

The real advantage of Fairy is that you know for certain the customers windows will definately need cleaning again in a few weeks time.
