with the weather turning i've been thinking about putting a drop of anti freeze in the bucket. has anyone else tryed it? any unintended consequences? also i bought some mineral deposit remover for lime marks on windows. do you charge extra for this? (it cost nearly a tenner for less than 500ml). cheers

I sometimes put a bit of screen wash in the water, that normally does the trick, and regards the mineral deposit remover, i usually us vinegar and that works very well.

What exactly do you guys mean by mineral deposits?
I sometimes come across windows that are burned by cement or something when the houses are plastered. It looks like dirty water ran down the glass but wont come off even using a blade. Is this mineral deposit or if not has anyone got a solution?

Depends what part of the country you are in. If you have limescale deposits on your taps at home then you are in a hard water area, and it is this stuff that the guys are refering to. Mostly noticed I've found if theres a leaking gutter, after a period of time the drip drip drip on the glass leads to mineral deposits forming and an limescale remover/vinegar is needed to get rid.

hi I done some builders cleans this week with cement run off over a few windows, scraping them was a waste of time, then used some crystal clear 550 which is an acid and they came up like new!! the cement fizzed on the glass so I guess its a chemical reaction.

More likely a leaking overflow pipe, rain water from a leaking gutter won't do it.
Lawn sprinklers are another culprit.

thanks  i bought some mineral deposit remover and now learn i can use vinegar  a tenner down ! i'll see how i get on. thanks for the help

Vinegar has its limitations.

Remember its safe enough to put on your chips, thats why its not able to dissolve most mineral deposits.

Try putting the other stuff on your fry-up, see what happens to your guts 

Id stick with the mineral deposit remover.
