Estate Agents-new jobs?
« on: October 29, 2008, 12:42:00 pm »
Does anyone, or has anyone tried, contacting Estate Agents advising them of the benefits, to the sellers, of having ‘Clean Windows and Plastic’?
It seemed to make sense to me, but it may have been tried and failed.

I wouldnt have thought you'd have ANY joy advising them what they know already but which ISNT actually their job to do.

Building societies lend money, you'll have more luck with a letting agency, but suggesting building societies tell their customers that they'll sell their house quicker if the uPVC and windows are clean seems a bit much.

If I  was a building society you approached Id suggest you tell them yourself   ;)

Your better off sending a letter to anyone that has their house up for sale.. Or try to get an agreement with an estate agent - say you give them a percentage or do theirs for free if they push you.

Of course it pays to look smart - if you trying to pull a lady, do you dress up smart, get your hair done etc? course you do.. its the same with a house sale.. if it looks clean there is less for the perspective buyer to worry about when they move in, and by showing what the house looks like when its nice and clean can really impress perspective buyers..

I work occassionally for an Estate Agent in Putney. End of lets work usually. It's a nice little earner because you can whack in a hefty bill and they'll pay because it ain't their money.

Mind you the property market around here is dead so I've not done any cleaning for them for 2-3 months.

Defo (when things pick up) give your local firms a visit.

Some of the properties, that are for sale, in my area are empty, and in need of a good clean.
I hadn't thought about End of Lets.
I guess it might be worth contacting the letting agents (I will ask if they have a window cleaner cleaning the let properties (protocol)).

hi i do lots of work for various letting agents predominately in student areas.I got the initial work from a new residential customer who is one of these agents and then picked up more work whilst in that area during student holidays when landlords repair and clean .I did contact every agent subsequently but not one of them got back to me!!!!!!  It just isnt worth the hassle for them to contact all of there landlords for nothing in return. Most of these landlords live in other parts of the country so there seems no way of contacting them myself.Mind you it is my best earner as i charge £12 per house and can do 40 to 50 in a day so some more wouldnt go amiss .

Wow, assuming an 8 hour day that's a house every 9 and a half minutes...without a break!

£600 per day!...good on yer mate...I'm envious!
