You've been reading my tag line!
NEver refuse to move something but there are ways of getting the client to fall in line with what you want to do. For example I never refuse to move the bureau loaded with glass and china. I simply say "certainly madam, you empty it and I'll move it" I've never yet had a customer whose not then agreed to leave it where it is.
Actually that 's not exactly true. One lady insisted on shunting itself, fully laden to prove how incompetent I was. there was a shunt from her....the sound of glass on the move....a moments silence....then the sound of glassware breaking as it fell off the internal shelf

She turned to me and said "Don't say a word. It was my idea! and my fault

Phew

Other responses include references to midgets and limbo dancers and the queen! IN all cases I never move sideboards etc if unpractical. (Often you can get underneath them anyway!
ANd I've lost count of the number of times people say not to go behind the TV because they are afraid that a connection will be lost and they won't be able to work out which cable goes into which socket! Far be it for me to try and persuade them otherwise.
