Yellow Pages vs Yell
« on: February 28, 2005, 05:46:07 pm »
Hi Guys,

I pay about the same per annum for Yell and YP(only small ad)

So far this year YP is £700 and Yell is £145 .

How are others finding it?

Cheers,

Doug

Hi Doug

I use both and they do work well for me  ;D

But what I have found is that 80% of my yellow pages work is  domestic and With Yell.com 80% of my work with this is commercial  ???  ???

hi Doug,

My Yellow Pages book is 1400.00, Glasgow South, full colour box.

Yell.com is 260.00 for enhanced listing and for catching other areas.

118 247 is 145.00 per year.

All + vat, i am now vat registered so makes it a bit lighter in the pocket so to speak.

The book is rubbish in todays era as the net seems to be the way forward so no doubt the book will come down in price and yell.com will probably double.

I really do hate yell group as they have no customer service at all. It is one of things though, can you afford not to be in it? But the book is really not working, also as my area is a major city is is saturated with cc's in the book.

Glasgow does two books, north and south and this year yell have decided to rob us even more and do four books, east, west, north and south.

I also do thomsons, 5 books and that seems to be working a bit.

Scott,

I think my post was a bit unclear , I was referring to the amount of work I have got from YP/Yell.

The book is beating the Yell more than 5:1 at the moment.

Cheers,

Doug

I'm with you Doug 100%. Yell.com got me 2 small jobs in a whole year and only £150. Yellow pages has got me £400 in 3 months so far so although it's not a lot better, at least it will pay for itself plus a few extra quid

We have done ok with yellow pages-  have just about got money back from ad (£575) and they are still delivering them in our area- so am confident of more to come over rest of year..mick 8)
