anybody been approached by the nice lady from yell pages trying to enrol you into a referal scheme through 118 247. has anybody taken up the opportunity and how have you found it?

Not sure what the scheme is but we are listed on 118247 and have been for well over a year (3 year contract). We have had no work and 1 enquiry from it in all of that time.

I wouldn't go anywhere near it and wish I hadn't listened to the rep.

i thought so. i did ask for proof of what amount of enquiries i would get from it ie. how many enquiries they have had for cc's in my area in the past. They said that because it was such a new service they could not possibly be able to supply me with any accurate figures (alarm bells rang)

That is unusual, YP are good at blasting "sales call" levels at you in part of their sales pitch.
What they don't ever mention are the dozens and dozens of calls that are nothing to do with "sales" but are from charities, tele-sales, price shoppers, wrong numbers etc.

Any information they give should be taken with a pinch of salt.

I am not a big directory fan, and don't approve of the expensive add-ons that they sell such as 118247!

Sorry Lads, I disagree I am on  118 247 and have been for the last two years and we are always getting calls through. At least three/four a week. So it works for some.

been on it for 11 months and not had a call yet!

They also cannot provide stats, i have accused them of mis-selling me the product as they cannot provide the stats for the service.

my opinion, steer clear of it.

I wouldnt bother, had 118 for a year (waste of time)

Personally my patience with Yell is running very thin now, I go in it because I have to.

In nearly 7 years I have had a different sales person every year.

Every time I tell them my advert hasn't worked well they say the same thing every year ("the advert is no good") WHY DONT THEY TELL ME THIS BEFORE THE ADVERT WENT IN.

I will be scaling the advert down next year, looking in the book it seems everyone is is doing the same.

I am also on 118 247 never had a response,and when i called them, i had to drag my info from them, yell seem to be losing the plot,loads of promises,but poor/very bad results, lead per £ ratio,not good at all : :

I turned it down last week.  They said they would give me statistics at end of year.

Would I then be able to get refund for second year No.

Last year as soon as dd signed all interest evapourated.

Sales guy wouldn't answer the phone.

They treat us all like idiots, I fell a back lash coming on.

Not sure if this is the same but Y/Phave just phoned and offered me a advert in yp the size of a business card for 148 pounds for the year des
