got an acrylic suite with a thick cotton weave.
acrylic is light brown and the cotton is cream.

any advice on what to use to clean it.

thinking either shampoo or a microsplitter,

any advice would be great fully recieved, as its £180.

if 10 is filthy and 1 is clean it comes in at about a 6 or 7.

host machine would be best, or i normally use a good neutral ph pre spray and agitate with a sponge or microfibre cloth then acid rinse

ive got natural orange
and ive got zip it but i'd need about 20 bottles of it.
can you mix micro splitters with something like natural orange, and if yes would it have any advantages?

Fabric Restorer, the name of the product is the clue. 

Have you thought of getting some training on upholstery, partly because it can bite you bad if you gt it wrong, but also to clean effctively and quickly, which will pay for itself in no time.

it takes much more than enthusiasm to be successful in this business. If you give the impression you are bombing along after a few short months and " offer advice " to experienced people, but appear to lack the basics yourself, what reaction do you really expect?

Whatever you do make sure you don't end up owning it.  If you use something high pH make sure you try to get it back down to neutral again.

With the truckmount you shouldn't have a problem with browning because it should dry out nice and quickly.

Due to the cotton, make sure you extract thoroughly so you don't leave any water marks where moisture has wicked over to a dry part from a damp part.

With the quick set-up of a truckmount I'd suggest you do a little PR... tell them you'll clean the worst bit first and see how it comes up, if they want you to go ahead crack on, if not walk away.

The most important thing is a test.Ask if you can take a cushion home to test,spray a small  amount of your chosen solutions  on each corner and stick a tiny label below it so you know what youve applied.Then wait 24 hours,then you will know how its reacted.You can also test at the back of the suite at the bottom corner.Dont even bother using anything above ph 8 ,its too strong and might change the colour.I know this from experience,the colour changed 2 hours after cleaning.Thats why I leave the fabric on suspect suites 24 hours.Steve.

a simple question for the experts  on here and not one positive answer.
maybe the experts haven't tried to answer it yet!
ive obviously done my training as ive identified what i'm cleaning.
i'll just use natural orange and hope it does the job, should do as its a good chemical to use., if theres any soiling left i'll try microsplitter. the suite will be  acid rinsed and dried so no problems with browning
ive also confirmed to the customer that with it being cotton i'll struggle to get all the soil out, she was ok with that and also thought £180 was quite cheap.
thanks guys for! for! well for nothing i suppose, doing the suite monday morning so if theres any experts out there who know if ms (zip it) and natural orange mix to give me an advantage  then let me know. but from the answers ive had so far, i won't hold my breath, allthough from the looks of it theres a few people out there who wish i would.

heres one for you derick,

try a citrus based pre-wash   .
I used it on a printed cotton suite a while back , good results .
test first , needs to be brushed in evenly and extracted   in the normal way.

You didn't mention pH issues in your first post, or drying.  So I did.

You have only ever cleaned a couple of suites from what you say elsewhere... so good luck now that you know it all

my system of cleaning suites hasn't changed much in the last 8yrs.

 spray with MS, scrub, then extract with either hot water or maybe a neutral PH detergent. I must have cleaned over a 1000 suites just like this and have never had a complaint or problem apart from one sensitive dye problem.

there has been about 5 suites I've walked away from due to perceived problems.

because of this I never understand questions like this,  forget any special mixtures or potions, just test it, then clean it.

jim, i didn't mention ph cos that wasn't what i wanted to know, i didn't mention how to boil an egg either, i'm amazed you didn't throw the answer to that in somewhere as well. the question clearly states what to use to clean, not how to test, or what ph or anything else, just what to use to get a good result, you say ive only cleaned a couple of suites and that is correct so you must know that ive done my training and know what i'm doing, ive even stated several times that if i'm unsure i walk away, i'm not unsure about this suite, i know i can clean it safely, as stated in the chemicals i'm going to use, the question was to see if any one had had good results with anything else. thought thats what this forum was all about, sharing your experiences and results.

You asked what could be used and I told you and I also said test first. You hav also got comments beyond the question you asked because people on here actually care about you not having a a potentail disaster on your hands.

If you get all shirty with people because they answer the questions you should be asking you will stop getting any replies fast.
