HI Guys

I need some advice please.

I have been cleaning a house weekly for around 2 months now. the problem is every time i go there is dog urine on the bottom of doors walls, floor(including Carpets). Its literally everywere. I was thinking of increasing my hourly rate, its 10.50 per hour at present.

What would you say to them and what would you charge?

Please help.

This all depends on the kind of person the customer is.

As we quote a fixed price for every job, I would explain to the customer that we would need to requote because of additional time and care required. BUT if you cannot afford to lose this customer it would be better to leave things - given the current economic situation it might be wise to not prompt the customer to rethink their decision to have you clean their home.

1.  Has this been happening since the beginning when you started the job?

2.  Have you agreed a written schedule of cleaning with the client?

3.  The dog problem should be charged as extra works

Was this not a problem when you first took on the customer, or is it a new dog? If its a new dog then i'd chat with the customer, no doubt the customer will be aware of the dog peeing everywhere. but if its always happening then adding an extra charge seems perfectly acceptable.

when i first started cleaning the home she said the dog wasnt trained yet. But it seems to be every were all the time. and its in the middle of the floors and ruining my mopheads and brooms.
What amount would you put as the extra charge?

have a chat with your customer and explain the problem. Work out before hand how much extra work it is causing you and then charge accordingly. Eg if you're spending an extra hour a week just cleaning up after the dog then charge an extra hour.
