Marketing for 2009 - my ideas..
« on: October 19, 2008, 11:18:52 pm »
Been thinking of getting a .pdf made up in the thinking of sending it via email to all commercial companies in the local area. Such as offices, estate agents, car showrooms etc, etc.

Also get it printed on gloss and get it sent out. Been surfing and found another company that does something very similar to what i was thinking about.

www.thelondonwindowcleaner.com/pdfs/TLWCWFP.pdf

Be able to get some nice "in action" pictures with my company logo at the top, and details on the bottom.

Do you think it would be better to send a self made .pdf in a email and post flyers like the .pdf above, rather than sending a normal letter.

Put myself in the public eye, saying "here i am" rather than waiting for them to come to me..

250 A4 Flyers (135gsm)        135gsm Gloss       £46.00 incl delivery, just need to get them sent out. 2nd class stamps £30ish for 100 2nd class.

ideas, and suggestions if you would be so kind :D

i hand delivered all businesses in my area last year and specifically addressed them to the contracts manager and gave them to receptionists etc and not just put them through the letterbox and did not get one reply.

you are looking at a very small percentage of replies that will become jobs from posting to business, i started a campaign last week to post 50 letters a week, to businesses- nursing homes etc, because the odds are on your side the more you send out....however i think you are at a disadvantage if you dont specify the name of who its for because you then might end up in the waste paper basket, i used to ring the companies 1st to find out who i would be sending it too and have a quick chat, ask if they use wc when the contract is up for renewal etc then tell them you will send something in they can file for future ref, but i dont get that much time to do that now, might do it for some, but definitely post stuff out there, just have to do alot to get any reasonable response, so dont get down hearted after week one, i posted leaflets 4 weeks ago, got my 1st reply on friday, so people do keep them!! good luck

I sat down last year and emailed every care home in my area and only got a reponse from one (which was no thanks). In my opinion e-mails don't work unless you know the manager in person. Don't know why, could be a lazy form of advertising or maybe anything that's not recognised gets blocked or deleted straight away.

Ive got a program from the internet, called solid converter pdf. If you want you can send me the file and i can convert it for you if required?

Basically you can create word document or similar and it will convert it to a pdf, or alternatively if you have corel draw you can export to pdf.

Really depends on how you have created the original document.
