this is off topic as far as cleaning goes but your my last resort!! on my laptop i have a really annoying programme that when i touch the touchpad in a certain way a grey box can pop up and it says 'back/previous', if you unwittingly touch this pop up you either go back or forward to a previous page, the problem is that i might have been typing for 10 minutes and then it's lost!!! does anyone know what this programme is called so that i can find it and delete it, pleeeeeese!!!

i'd guess a virus. try your virus checker,
i'm probably wrong though.

start your computer in safe mode...........

then run your anti virus software...........

if the software cannot delete them you will have to do it manually.

start again in safe mode.......use search files/folders option.....type in name of program.....
select the file then delete...
make sure that you remove ALL files with that name!!

What you using xp sp1 sp2 or vista

If it is a recent problem try system restore otherwise you can turn pop ups off.

i use vista but i don't think it's any sort of virus, i think it has come with some other programe i've installed, it's not doing any damage as such, but it is a real pain when i type something and if you press the touchpad in a certain way this box pops up and before i know it i've gone 'back' and lost the typing!

do a system restore before the date of your last install that created the problem.
