Tell him to leave the front door open and you will do one last clean for free.

Just dont mention that you have a really bad habbit of standing in dog s#*t and that he may need his carpets cleaned afterwards.   ;D

I tell my cuties, that fact i climb over their gates, if they are left locked when i come. ( i do tell them im coming the next day via a txt to their landline). If they dont want me to climb over them, then to tell me.

Bummer though, but if he was angry maybe he has just realised and its not the money issue.

Other than going to see him, to rectify the issue, i guess there is not much you can do.  :-\

It's a 6 foot iron gate with like 4 inch shamrocky things on top,not sharp but even still not the easiest gate to get over,a ladder one side and pull it through the skinney gap, can't be bothered ringing day before and all the nonsence,I reckon it's the credit crunch, can't be my work,I'm a perfectionist ;D

i once had a guy have a right go at me for climbing the gate, a very abusive phone message, i went around ( to sort it out, i was really angry ) and when he opened the door her went off on 1 again

i told him to go and try the side gate, it was open

he went brighter red ( he was allready very red after his rant )

i never did return and he after 3 years still has very dirty windows

I don't think I've ever had a customer 'rant' at me; though I think I may have been a bit sharp with a few.

I'm not sure what I'd do if one did 'rant', but I'm sure I would be fairly unpleasant about it.

I expect to be treated in the same manner I treat my customers.

Happened to me this week on a bung,

They said a lad who works for me jumped over the gate last time and didnt take the A Frame with him and half reached the back windows and made a mess.

They got this info off a neighbour as the lad cleaned the neighbours house. What they didnt realise was that I cleaned the bungalow the cheeky swines.

They even went to the trouble of hitting the glass themselves with a dirty towel before we were due. It was so obvious.

When I arrived on the job I saw the custy jump up from his chair keen to show me his handy work saying he'd keep us on if we gave for last clean for free.

We no longer clean that job!!!!!!! >:( >:( >:( >:(

I was cleaning a regular customer yesterday and at the same time there was a Virgin Media van next door with two blokes fitting a satelite dish or something, I didn't really pay much attention.

When the customer was paying me one of the men working next door was just inside my customers front garden running a cable down into the house next door. My customer had a purple fit, really shouting and aggressive. Then he went next door and was the same to his neighbour. I just beat a hasty retreat in my van.

I had something similar a few years back.

A customer through a fit when a kid came into his garden looking for a ball whilst I was doing his windows. The boy went and got his Nan who then came back and had another right go. I ended up trapped in the garden as they were having this major barnie in the gateway. It was most embarrassing listening to them air their dirty washing in front of me.

I got told off once for lifting a custy's gate off it's unprotected hinges to get thru' - quite funny really as it had two padlocks and chains on the opening side.

Also one who drilled the top hinge post and put a split pin through, which I used a pair of mole grips on to flatten and remove before lifting his gate; the convo went thus:

Custy: "How did you do the backs?"
Me: "Thru' the gate"

Custy: "But it's padlocked!"
Me: "I know, I've got a couple of skeleton keys!" (I didn't use them but he didn't quite ask that did he?)

Custy: "Humph!
It's a game of three halves!

I've got one of those 'Keys.'

What makes me laugh is when a custy has a new gate and lock fitted only to have me come along with my 'Key' and unlock it straight away.

I do tell them though as I used to do that lifting the gate thing with one of my customers for years before they cottoned on that I was doing their windows when the gate was 'locked.' They then got quite shirty with me when I explained how. Then they 'fixed' the gate and I couldn't get into clean their windows and they had a go about that.

I had one who pivked me up on it the time after.

Grumpy old man, "The house keeper said that you jumped the gate and if you do it again we'll find another wc"

Me, "Oh sorry I didn't realise you wouldn't like it I won't do it again"

GOM, "Well as I said if you do it again I'll get some one else"

Me, " as I said I'm sorry and won't do it again"

GOM ,"Well if you do it again you'll get the sack"

Me ,"Well I can save you the hassle I have plenty of work and don't need to do your windows" The house was massively under priced anyway.

Faced changed pale white and then said ,"Well if that's what you want to do"

The look on his face was a picture, I would have carried on doing it but why be spoken to like a child.  3 months later his wife come out begging me back.  I finally went back and cleaned them when the grumpy old man died a few months after that and for a lot more money.

Ive got one where the gates latch fixing is screwed onto a 3" upright post right next to the gates edge (I think the fact that its a 3" gate post is relevant, 4" and it wouldnt work). As its a 3" post it can be pushed away from the gate thus allowing the latch to be slid out of the latch fixing and open the gate.

Theyve not asked yet...... ;D

I Got dumped last week, 5 bed detached, huge conservatory, 3 large windows above it too,... but down the side of conservatory was a real struggle with overgrown coniffer trees pressing me into the glass, then i had to unhinge a broken tall rotten gate , which was sat on bricks, to get down the side for one tiny bathroom window...
then struggle to put the gate back on, then crawl back through the spider webbed conifers,.... .
i had done this too long , but now the trees were pressed against the glass, so i left the side of the conservatory and the small bathroom window,

i left a note explaining it was nearly impossible to get to them until the trees were cut back..... and i had to leave them, so i have knocked a couple of quid off...

i recieved my cheque, with a note saying because i wont do the side of the conservatory they no longer require my services  ::) :o

what did they expect me to do ?
bring my hedge cutters  ;D

glad to see the back of it to be honest.
