Just noticed geoff's reply on another thread mentioned this system, it sounds very efficient, can someone tell me more about it.

Does the system require a truck mount set up?

How much does the equipment cost?

Explain the process of the cleaning system?

Be glad to hear more from anyone about this.

Cheers Paul

No truck mount required.

Approx £1800

3 rotary heads revolving with either pads (carpets) or brushes (hard floors).

Its an encap system - h ttp://www.cleaning-matters.co.uk/stories/articles/-/floorcare/carpet_cleaning_machines_accessories/cimex_a_firm_football_favourite/

Never used one, Geoff has one and I think Mike Halliday - they will comment more fully no doubt.

Geoff does more than me and makes a lot of money from it.

we use a 3 headed Cimex machine which scrub a special shampoo in to the carpet fibres, this loosens the dirt and holds it within the shampoo ( encapsulates) when the shampoo dries it crystallises and breaks away from the carpet fibre still containing the soil, these dirt laden crystal are then vacuumed up later.

the visual results can be stunning!

its very big in the USA.

As Mike as pointed out I do tend to do alot more encap and do make good money from this method,
when ever I survey commercial I push the encap, I give a quick demo , as it takes literaly a couple of minutes to set up and to reitiriate Mikes point , the results are visibly stunning , this can make all the difference in getting the job.
The only drawback I will point out, as some may jump in and start knocking ;) the system , is the critical pre-vac, requiring a visit the next day . This not alway been Ideal because of the logistics, however I have never ever had to visit the next day because explaining the method to custy,s and the importance of post vaccing they are more than happy to arrange with in house cleaners .
Geoff.
ps.
and thanks to Mike for introducing me to encap.
who ever said dont knock before u try ,i never tried dog crap but i know i wouldnt like  haha

Just so I get it right Geoff - you do a pre-vac, but the post-vac you get "them" to do it.
Or do you not pre-vac.

Geoffs got his 'post' & 'pre' mixed up ;)

with encap' you need to remember until the carpet is post vacced no dirt has been removed from the carpet, it might look better but no cleaning has taken place, hence the need for a very thorough post vacuuming.

In office situations does the Cimex deal with coffee stains and water stains?

Joe ,

water stains not a problem, coffee usualy removed their is an encapsulation spotter for stubborn stains

first pic, was water mark  , no wick back

second pic was the worst I have done with encap and a little extra work required , but overall they were happy......... a working mans club

Are there situations the Cimex is not viable and you would use, say, a rotary instead (or some other machine).
Perhaps thinking of size of area to be cleaned, or access restricted due to desks.

I took a look at the machine at Carpex, but interest been rekindled.

Hi Dave - yes I am fine.
Didnt know you had a Cimex.

These machines clean as fast as a rotary but more thorough, the pads on a some rotaries skip over bits and on uneven carpet can miss quite alot, shame that Cimex are so expensive as you can pick up a buffer for less than £200.
