whats the best form off advertising for you?
« on: October 14, 2008, 05:40:36 pm »
i have mixed response from leaflets, internet, yellow pages. this year my best advertising was word of mouth and repeat business.

what do you guys think works best for you?  especially in the winter as no domestic custys want any pressure washing doing really.  do commercial premises go to google or yellow pages first?

I have been in the THOMSON LOCAL THIS YEAR, -waste of time and money.

Get a good website - get on all the free listings etc.

I have flyers - but get little return from these , i now leaflet drop when working in  an area.

Currently utilising my mates canvassing team and call centre and have been getting a steady response.

Have be going for 4 years now and get repeat business year on year.

Recently bought omnivac for gutters to give another string to my bow

Regards

BILLY

Yell.com is total pants - I agreed then cancelled but they still put me in by mistake, it was in there for about 3 months and I had one click through to my website in this time. To add insult to this they still tried to charge me for it. You get better results by writing your details on tenners and dropping them in the high street. A good website is best, we have ours and a customer st site - the customer st one costs £30/month but it has earnt us heaps.

I agree with the majority .Yell pages is waste of money.

I get 90% of new customers from being seen on estates/neighbours recommendations/ van sign.

I canvass in Apl in specific streets where i can cope with more work. Door knocking is the only effective route for me.Leaflet drops are a waste of time/money.

Omni-vac is worth every penny

It is still hard work and has a few little foibles but yes it makes you money, easily. Buy one

And no i am not paid or connected to Glyn or Omnipole apart from being an occasional customer

it sounds a good idea, are they heavy to hold and are they easy to set up?  can you use the vac for pressure washing sludge too?
