do you get a boss to sign a form saying they will pay you when the job is done? as some firms are not paying out.

I make sure i get an email now confirming they want me to go ahead with the job.

I learnt the hard way and ended up loosing £1000 from one job!

did they not want to pay you?  thats a good idea getting them to send you an email to say they want the work done. then you vcan print it out as proof if you go to court. will do that.   one of my mates did a job for a domestic customer and he refused to pay him at the end, the guy told him to leave or he will beat him up.  what would you do?  get the police or issue court procedings?  you see you do need a signature or email as proof or you have no chance. :o

they said they went bust, but i have found out since that they didnt!!!
But its been about 10 months since now and they live 150 miles away.
A debt collection agency said they could persue it for me but they needed £250 upfront, but then they couldnt gaurentee a result.

I didnt get anything signed, even though i asked for something. They didnt give anything to me when i turned up on site because they said they forgot, so i believed them. But now, no matter how nice they seem i make sure i have something solid, to show.
