Quick Connectors
« on: October 09, 2008, 07:34:51 pm »
I just bought 2 female and 2 male quick connectors. I like to keep them in stock.

from Prochem £57.00 with VAT !

had 20% discount but still alot!

Thought I should have got them from woodbridge, anyone know how much they are there? are they as good quality? (these are 'Hansen' ones)

feel I been ripped off. :(

May be a daft question but why do they need replacing ? do they wear out ? and how often do they need replacing

Thanks John

female ones have 2 seals inside that can go, then they start to leak, male ones start to leak if they are scratched/dented from dragging along the ground, but they do last ages.

Silcone lubricant helps

In many cases, and more necessary as certain parts start to age ;)

P.S. that price is a rip-off, they should be about 6 quid plus vat each

I replaced all mine through the local Bearing Man - less than £4 a pop plus vat. Pretty good but not as many ball bearings in the neck as the originals, also the collar spring not as strong - they can come unstuck if you drag them round a corner

try your local pressure hose repair outlet if you have one, sometimes those that work there like a bit of beer money
