Has any body got any tips on getting blue biro out of a leather suite.
I usually remove it with solvex or eco spotter but for some strange reason on this occasion I cant get any transfer.
Its quite a tough but cheaper end of the market suite,its only 12 months old and in good nick.The kiddies bless their little souls have really attacked it with biro.
If i cant remove it she is going to throw it out.

Allways use solutions designed for leather...not carpet/upholstery cleaning.

As were all aware there are many types of ink , some can be removed others cant. An ink remover stick may work if its recent. Alternately a colour / pigment mixed & applied as for colour repair would cover over the ink mark . As has already been suggested contact Andy or Judy - LTT.

Mate of mine removed blue biro mark of his cream leather sofa with Vaseline.
Smudged onto mark and left for a while, it absorbed the ink and wiped off. I have checked it over and it left a slight grease mark which i removed completely with Eco spotter.
TEST first somewhere out of sight.  .........the leather not the vaseline.

Hi Paul, I will expand...

Like Chris has said by testing first you might get away with using Eco spotter. As we all know Eco contains alcohol which is brilliant at removing ink on leather, but can also remove tanning agents causing colour loss.
Isopropyl Alcohol (available in most pharmacies) is the product of choice for removing ink from leather as well as ethanol or isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alc).
I would steer clear of these if your unsure and go with a stick based cleaner.
As for products, LTT do some nice stuff or you could try Fenice products which dont get mentioned much on these boards, these guys have been producing leather cleaning products for 30 years and have a great range.

On the channel 4 programme 'How clean is your house', if my memory serves me correct, they use hair spray to remove biro. It may be worth a try, as along with vaseline, I can not see how it can damage the item, if use carefully.

if prot leather, i have used hair spray befor with great results.
just spray on wipe off, check for colour first.

Red liquid around anus must hurt, please check that your gun is not firing too hard, try KY it's easier to wash off!            doh!!!

We used to tumble our balls in the old days when the quality and storage was not so good

Put hairspray on a cotton bud and trace over biro line, keeps the amount of hairspray down to a minimum you put on the leather - it worked for us!!!!!!!!
