Just a big general purpose. larger than the hoses, "canvass" bag. Also keep brushes, hand tools, upholstery tool, cloths, furniture pads and skiddies in it as well. Easy to bring all into house in one go. Just remember when coiling hoses ( always keep solution and vac separate) to make sure the vac hose is completely empty-don't want to flick waste water all over the wallpaper/furniture etc as I am coiling it.

It's worth noting that plastic has a 'memory', no this is not some techno bull, beloved of a certain organisation   but happens because the long molecules get used to a certain position and try to return to that if forced another way.

Thats why it is best to always coil the same way and you will soon find they coil quite easily.

I have found it's better to use a tight coil , allowing room for slackening when you pick up.

I used to just throw them in the van, but it does look much better to turn up with a coulpe of hose bags rathing than look like an inexperienced snake charmer.

just a thought on tying hoses up, i use bungee clips in the van but they can be dangerous, especially around the vac hose, if they ping undone they can have your eye out, when you get time and the inclination get some velcro strapping from a habadasherey shop, so much safer and they don't stretch-out to useless after a few months!

Over the years i have had a laugh watchin other CCs and casuals trying to coil up vac hose.  It really is so simply.  Lay it out straight (this is a must) to make IT EASY.  Then simply roll it into a coil.  This works with 1.5" & 2" vac hose.

Problem is mine are so old they remember to uncurl and return into a heap no matter what I do.

Well the plastic crate is the answer. Managed to find a thick heavy plastic one which i think was used for shoes originally. Been using it for years. My 15m hose, powder and my most regularly used spotters all go in and keeps the van tidy. No problem. The thought of trying to get a well used hose with all its inevitable kinks and loose bits in a hose back frightens me lol

That reminds me of the time I once went to the toilet and decided to read the paper to loosen the motions. It was a wonderfull feeling to sit and read at the same time.
The biggest problem I found was after the 1hr mark the viscosity of matter alters and the crayon affect does'th inevitbly follow. Such a mess, I felt like a child without the caring mother.
What the hell I thought, rock and roll, lets run a bath!

Anyway back to the question. We roll it it to the bag.

I don't know what length you are talking about but here goes...

I use one of those giant plastic tubs (looks like a massive plant pot with two rope handles).

Due to it's round shape, it is dead easy to coil the hoses around the inside.  You can use the space in the middle for upholstery tools etc.

Best thing is... it's not like wrestling with a python each time you put the hoses away!

your bang on the money there ive been doing this for that last 15 years and if your lasy like me

you just rap i little of the hose in the bottom of the tub , stand still and spin the tub feeding the hose in at the same time , this way it wraps itself in there bit like a mini hose reel
