How to get top of the Google listings

Ive done all my meta tags and meta descriptions, but what else will I need to do?

Heading tags, relevent content (v important), one-way links, title tag, alt image tags. make sure EVERY PAGE has its own meta tags etc

Use your keywords in the text of your pages as much as possible, without being stupid otherwise it will be regarded as spamming.
Don't hide text in the same colour as the background.

There are no guarantees, as your competitors are also trying to get the same position as you.

I dont have any competition but I still want to come top. Ive only just done my meta tags so it will probably take a few weeks for the spiders to find it and get it on google. Any other things I need to do?

By outsmarting everyone else in the same boat. Link up with as many other window cleaners as possible like everyone else appears to be doing  :)

get on as many directories as possible.freeindex is a good one you can
exchange a link with them and you can put your web site on for free.
