I know they are road legal, but can you ride them on a motorway? Ive just never seen one on a motorway.

Ive always wanted a motorbike, but i could trade the car in for one ( i think you only need a car licence for one of those)

If it is road taxed and street legal bike then i think they are legal on m/ways

I know a chap (w/c) who has a copmact round and he's in the process of converting a large electric mobility scooter to pull a trailer with.

I think he and the guy with the quad bike are doing a clever thing, They'll get noticed even more by people and I bet they pull in the work from there little conversions? best of luck to them both.

problem is the quads are rather noisy! that could put upper classes off who live in the country. So you lose possible good earners?

nice to see the interest!
the house being cleaned belongs to a millionaire and has horses. No complaints about noise . Mind you this ones made in canada and sounds like an ordinary 800cc bike.

Just looked up the towing capacity on one of those 800cc models - 590kg pretty impressive for such a small vehicle. Trouble is the quad weighs about the same as the trailer (probably less) so i would think braking might be dodgy. Be great in the Summer.
Think i know of the guy, he used to have his van with the tanks on the outside i believe. Bit like Ghostbusters.

I'm a private detective. 
Long story really and not very exciting. I used to work in Frome at the print factory and obviously you are quite well known in that area (i didn't know you i'm from Trowbridge). When i started my business my colleagues - the ones who wern't taking the pee told me all about the guy with the ghostbusters van and the floppy hat. The hat is a good selling point too. Some were customers and possibly the Managing Director too. Anyway as my work took off i left the place - couldn't stand it any longer. Got chatting to a local cleaner much later who had come accross the pictures of the factory being cleaned buy a guy with a floppy hat and a jet wash. Just did a google search of the factory and it soon popped up put two and two together and there you are. Bit confusing 'cos you were under a company name i dealt with in Chippenham who passed the name to another in Westbury who seem to have sold to a business up north

When I changed Kangoo's, I did consider a "Tuk-Tuk", just to make heads turn.

Unfortunately, a bit impractical, as the Kangoo has to double as my private transport, [in the Winter, motorcycle in the Summer]

Nope don't miss it one little bit. Did go back some months ago though and clean the windows inside and out at a rather low price! I only do one job in Frome which is a B&B. I've not had to venture far out of my home town really few in Dilton and Westbury. There's about four or five on this forum from our area that i know of.

i liked the idea so much my landy is up sale. what do you think would be better for ladders james...directly on the bike or a trailer? what size engine you got.....what's reliability like? are quadzillas any good or am i better off paying extra £2k for a brand?

Hi,
I only use ladders for flat roofs, so telescopics are ideal ( £140, screwfix ). If longer ladders needed, then a trailer would be best. This Can Am is an 800cc, but I think the 650 would be just as capable. Mine does 35 mpg, so the 650 should top 40-45. The build quality of the Can Ams is excellent & in 1300 miles have had no grief. Did look at Hondas but they don't come PLG, only agricultural. I'm doing a day & 1/2's work in a day so I reckon to pay back in 2 years. Most of the hose probs dissapear cos you can park where you want to. It's an 800ccback pack! Check out ebay, there was one for £3000 with 14 months warranty.

Well, the cold weathers here. And pleased to report that life on a quad bike is ok in -1.
Heated grips, warm air from the engine up yer skirt.
Plus points: straight off the bike, freezing at 40 mph to enjoy stationary wfp. No hesitating in Van!

  carry on, i do a few over there, mostly three storey and a very tall block of flats and a few in Dilton. A lot on leigh park seem pretty tight for money. Seems to have been targeted by several different people. See there is a new start up from Warminster too i believe. Tidy Windows they call themselves. Had a call from a guy in 'Norton trying to sell a complete wfp set up the other day 400ltr tank, 4040 ro and poles had a van to get rid of too, if you know anyone interested i'll look out his number.
