Water through DI Vessels

Quite a while ago I went to Grimsby to get a system installed by Pure Freedom, well impressed,I only took the time the other day to really study it as I was back washing the large membrane on top of the tank,I have 3 outlets, there is TWO DI vessels fitted, however the inlet from my garden hose seems to go through one of the DI vessels before entering the two 20" housing and 40" membrane then goes into another DI vessel before entering the tank,I thought that the water went through these pre filters etc. before entering any DI vessels, every thing works fine but am a bit confused

Yes,there is a water softener installed too, mybe thats why
,another thing I am confused about, there is a 100 PSI pump fitted too as a booster pump,my water preasure is 30 anyway but the pump does'nt seem to make any difference, still reading 30 when booster pump is active
