Best carbon pole in your Opinion?
« on: September 30, 2008, 12:35:53 pm »
Looking to get a new 25ish foot tele pole.

Been looking at Gardiner Pole Systems SL-X, any others worth looking at? Currently working with a glass fibre pole but want something with more rigidity..

SLX or if you're on a tight budget the HXtel.

If you don't mind modular, then a CF fishing pole conversion would be the cheapest & lightest option.

But not the most rigid......
Definatly recomment the SLX from Gardiners.

whilst your waiting for it to be in stock

spend 21 quid and get yourself a RT zensorflex, its the lightest around

h ttp://wfpole.110mb.com/

OR

h ttp://wfpole2.110mb.com

give it a try, 21 quidm what have you got to lose, ive tried the SLX and compared to the RT its heavy ( i know the SLX goes higher blah blah blah ) but for 2 storey houses, you cannot go wrong ( if you have 3 storey houses get a gangsta pole aswell )

i honestly would have any other pole, i really wouldnt, money no object, i would still go with the lightest pole

SL-X for smallest diameter base pole and rigidity. HXtel pole for quality price and quickest clamps to work with.
For 2 storey work I prefer a HXtel. because of quickest clamps.
For 3 storey I use SL-X.
For 4 storey Facelift pole.
All these poles are telescopic.
If it's lightness combined with rigidity then a SL-2 modular pole but that's more suitable for commercial  and large domestic work.

As Matt said go for the zensorflex i just got one today its great, also use emporium 60ft for the high stuff so so light, would never ever go back to teli poles again, got my zensoflex for £15.00 plus £5.00 postage off e-bay, if it only lasts me 6 months it will pay for it self over and over again. Why anyone would want a modular pole for Domestics is way beyond me, even if they are quick, you'd spend a lot more time on it.

And it might be light, but is it strong enough?

SL-X all the way. ;)

forget anything else, the sl-x is the pole to get. Dont get a cheap pole, save your money elsewhere, this si something you dont want to skimp on. And to top it off buy a Tucker brush and convert it and have the best brush in the world as well as the best pole!!

the faceliftone or f1 poles are both 55 and 65ft poles, and there not as light as the Gardiners sl-2 at them heights

SL-X all the way, fitted with the new superlite dual trim brush, plastic angle neck & a pinned MKII swivel. One pole does it all! Dreamland! ;)

Best telescopic carbon pole IMO is facelift, the clamps are simply the best there is.Above 28ft from the hip the next best pole is the SL2,my facelift pole is as the day i got it so are the clamps. If i told Tony a year ago that he would be having to glue his clamps on his pole periodically in order for it to work he would have lol,bit of a way to go IMO before it gets anywhere near the facelift.Just my opinion. ;) ;)

The 24ft facelift is 2.50kg and SL-X is 1540g !!

In the hand the difference is not noticable at all, weight is important as we all know but so are the clamps and ease of use and facelift clamps are the quickest easiest there is.The facelift clamp is very robust for plastic and is in a straight line with the pole and when  closed folds down to nothing hardly sitting proud of the pole at all.

I've never had to glue my clamps dude, a drop of oil on the cam when i first got it was all it needed. ;)
