small shop prices
« on: September 27, 2008, 11:41:28 am »
My youngest son goes to college 3 days a week and decided he is going to start a small window cleaning round up for the days he is off.

Anyway he can't drive he pinched one of my work t shirts and made some business cards in word and laminated them.

He went out yesterday with my small a frame and traditional stuff and some washing up liquid in his bucket.

He went and focused on bungalows and got 4 i think but he price one wrong it has 6 windows and conservatory and he is charging 8.50 but i have put him right on the pricing in future.

He went and priced two small shops two bits of glass each and a door inside and out and he priced them at £10 and got them.

I thought small shops were rubbish money and never been after them or has my son just go a good price for them.

I think yesterday he made just over £50 and to him being only 17 he is well happy.
He is going out again today to try and get some more.

and will the tax man find out about his £50
He said if he gets enough he is going to register it as a business with the tax man so we will see.

And if not i will end up with what he picks up

Give it a couple of months and we will see.
He came out with me a couple of days last week and said he enjoys it and up until now he has never been interested in comming to work with me.
But now he has a motorbike and wants to get a better one and take his bike test and start driving lessons he realises dad is no longer going to pay for everything for him and he has to start earning his own money.

I just had my nephew working with me for a couple of months, he's the same age and was doing ok

I had my eldest working for me for a year but was always moaning he was 18 at the time and didn't like it so stopped working for me which to be honest im glad about as he used to drive me mad some days.

Now he does nothing he just can't be bothered and would rather spend the day hanging out with his mates who are all the same lazy sods.

My lad had a brand new scooter last year but a car pulled out in front of him and that was the end of that bike.

He now has a yamaha yb100 its about 12 years old but in real good condition.
The wife worries about him though because this little 100 don't half shift for a 100cc bike.

We don't see him much now he has the 100 on the road and goes everywhere.
He went from kent to the isle of wight last week on it.

I think he's more carefull now since he hit a car and a couple of weeks ago two of his freinds got killed on bikes and i think that sunk in a bit.
