I draw the line when my knees are trembling with fear (only kidding). Use your own judgement. If you don't feel safe on a windy day, leave it and come back another day. No one wants a pole dropped on their head or their car.

I do monitor the anticipated wind speed for a couple of my rounds.  They are 45ft+ work in exposed sea front areas and if the wind is over 35 kph, I'll either reschedule or check that it's coming from exactly the right direction before starting work.  It's easy enough to reschedule, it saves a lot of stress and both of the jobs are in busy areas, over car parks full of very expensive cars. On other more private, sheltered work I will often work on more gusty days. It does depend on the job.

I work with my pole in stronger winds than I did on my ladder.
