currently i am 100percent trad and i want to convert over to wfp which i will use on most of my customers, i'm thinking of a freedom trolley as i dont have that many customers just over 100,

however i've recently bought a 03 astravan lpg which i really like now i know there not supposed to be that good with wfp but i could sell it and get a vauxhall combo van with the sliding door as you can get them with lpg too which i would want. i'm not sure what to do either have a freedom trolly in my astra or a van mount in a combo van.

does anyone on here use a vauxhall combo van for window cleaning? what are they like and how good are they for the job?

had my combo for a month now , great compared to escort van , its a better van as i can get my poles in side van , fitted brackets to the roof , try to get one with a turbo  better when carry water i have 250lts tank but want to upgrade to a 400ltr tank , also look one that has 800kg payload (.combo 2000)

im wfp with freedom trolley, i use astravan, works very well for me, 

i carry 10 x 25L barrels. fits just right which means it dont slide all over the place when im racing the lanes to get to my next job, the fact it looks and drives like a car is a worthwhile bonus. only downside poles are overhanging into the front cos loadspace is only 1.8metres long, my longest pole unextended is 2.2metres, but i sorted that out nicely with overhead storage brackets and upper half bulkheads to keep them off the seats, still drips down on center console a bit when wet though.....  just put a towel over it, carries enough water to earn £200 pd residential, picking up a brand new astravan on 58 plate end of the weekwill set it up the same way, they even have plastic trays in the load area that come up the sides, which means its watertight already -

some dont like it but suits me to a T, and looks great to drive outside work hours too.....   i guess its like marmite!

May i ask how many houses you clean for that amount and what area your from as id love to earn that sort of money every day . (Whats your secret)

d prosser cant you put the poles on the roof? i'd be really gratefull if you could post a picture or two of your van and its set up?

Get as big as van as you can afford, Tranist type/size you will not run out of water as you can hold a big enough tank for one/2 persons , combo, escort etc for future you will limit yourself to how many jobs you do in a day if you get busy and want to take the next step..

Thats good supposing you work on average 8am till 4pm everyday with just 1 hour for dinner and other stoppages thats just over 16 mins per house Including travelling to the next job, Collecting money / writing out ticket.

I must be doing something wrong

i dont like to put poles on top cos of value, havnt even got a roof rack lol,

i have 411 customers, i work in and around maidstone, do around 20 jobs a day, leave home at 8am and home by 3-4pm, no lunch breaks, keeps me gut down so i can fit me beers in at the weekends 

built it up over 3 years........

If you're just using a freedom trolley, you dont need a van. I use an estate.

If you choose carefully then a big van can be as cheap to run as a small one. I would be of the opinion that bigger really is better. I had a Pug Partner with a 400 ltr tank in,.. it was awkward, cramped, slowed down the work, and really restricted what I could do.
Now I've a boxer van, and the difference is amazing. I've room for a 2nd tank if I take on an employee, I can carry a gutter vac if I want, I can carry office cleaning gear & floor cleaning gear and it still won't interfere with me cleaning windows.
It costs about €10 a week extra in fuel, but tax & insurance are the same,... and it easily makes that €10 back for me, and plenty more on top.
