First job was 8.30.

Looked out window and 7.30 and decided to have a lie in. Rang them from my bed at 8.15 and lay in till 9.30

What a lazy life this summer has turned out to be. Last nights forecast said it was going to clear here in the Midlands at 1.00. Just checked BBC's forecast and it looks as if it's on for the day.

Well, just got back in from one wfp job in the rain and i have to say it's crap! It's uncomfortable overheating in a waterproof jacket, it's embarressing the comments you get in fact it's pretty much a waste of time in my opinion i'd just as well fill a bucket with pure water and lob it at the windows. I honestly think the guys that keep going on domestic are just having a laugh at the customers expense.

Get some good waterproofs if your getting to hot, how can you throw in the towel straight away? we get comments, but all know we work in the rain, never had a problem with finish but if we did it is guaranteed as is all the work we do.

If you dont want to work in the rain dont, we are all different, but your excuse IMO is a little poor to just stop it and say it is a waste of time but maybe that was the excuse you was looking for who knows  ;)

I clean a few domestics and I would not clean them if they could not be done, the simple fact is they can be.

It appears to have started raining outside.

Been monitoring the met office radar, it was looking like it might not even come to much here, been spitting most of the morning, but clear sky too at times. Figured it might all have cleared by this afternoon, the radar had the cloud looking like it was fragmenting, it seems to be gathering itself together again  ;D

Perhpas it is a write-off today after all.

Nay mind Ill be sunning it on the Red Sea beaches of Taba, scuba diving with the corals and snorkelling of the coral jetty in 2 weeks time  ;D  ;D

God my life is good.

there are plenty of customers out there matt. if someone doesn't want to fit in with your business model then yes, replace them!

It all depends what your goals, attitudes are. Im happy enough with what i earn to not get pnuemonia when its not necessary ploughing on in torrential rain, sometimes i'll work through light/medium rain to finish a big job/street or if theres only an hr left etc, but otherwise not really bothered, id rather go out saturday morning, but if you need/want fortunes then you will have to work no matter what, and good on you, but it doesnt mean anyone else is any less conscious of there business, i think it harms customer relations sometimes especially if it is really peeing down, they understand in light rain but not when its just daft!!

Exactly.

I had a custy comment on spotting a couple of window cleaners working together in the rain last week over the road from where he lived. He said 'Crikey, talk about desperate'

I wonder if it can quite often give members of the public an entirely unwelcome notion about window cleaners in general.

keep wondering. once explained that it can be done and that if there is a problem you will rectify it the next day, see how many complaints you get. the answer you will be looking for is zero!

don't let the customers rule you, we are the pros here, not them, so show them how its done! ;) if they have a genuine compliant then rectify it. 9 times out of 10 they don't!
