ro problem
« on: September 08, 2008, 10:10:55 pm »
hi
i have a 200 gpd unit with di unit running into a 1000 ltr ibc, when tank is full it switches of , i only use about 300 ltrs per day, so i turn of ro for a few days when tank is full. when i restart  ro , i run to drain for about 15 mins before i reconnect to di, heres  the problem, when tds reads 006 or under i reconnect di , then take another reading  after di , it is way higher ???, it comes down to 000 after a while , but is using resin quicker , any ideas .

its called leaching - what happens is your resin has some impurities stored in it from he water you have passed through it - when off, the water will reabsorb some of these impurities - thus for the first half litre or so you get a higher reading from the di.
I've never been to bed with an ugly bird but I've woken up with loads!
