Hose reel pressure build up...
« on: September 05, 2008, 10:27:26 pm »
Hey everyone... was wondering if anyone could help....

I'm getting a lot of pressure build up in my hose reel.... up to now I've had a brass inlet on the hose reel, attached to a gardena female connector from the pump... I've tried changing both fittings, but whenever I reel out or in the pressure build up pushes the pump to reel hose off..... tis doing my head in!

I'll reel out, get round the back of a house, connect the pole, and nothing... get back to the van and i've got water pouring down the road.... :(

Any ideas? Thought it was the hoselock connection, so attached the hose directly with an O-ring clip, and even this is working its way free....?

Do you use the varistream? If so you need to turn down the blue dial inside it.

If you use an old style varistream set the dial on G or H and give that a try.

I used to get this, try getting a brass 90 degree swivel elbow.

I found that as I was walking away from my hosereel, straight connectors would sometimes pop off when rotating.

this sorted it for me

Yea, I must say it works very well for me. :)

Here's the link, about half way down.

Only just had a chance to post....

All sorted :) Changed the inlet on the hose reel again and this sorted it.... must have been perished washers in the old one and the one I put on.

Thanks :)
