this has probably been repeatedly asked many times. need to get a carbon fibre pole as getting quite a bit of wfp on. budget £1000. need max height so i can match anyone out there. so i don't turn up n look an arse coz i can't get as high as someone else. the jobs i'm getting are last minute emergencies, so i don't always get to see job till i get there. can be bloody long days and very tiring on trapezoids (muscles at side of neck) so lightness is a factor but so is durability

hi ,go for modular. 2 on the market gardiners or emporium.Both about the same price.i have the emporium but i have learnt that gardiners is better,more robust.The good thing is that they are both cheaper than the equivelent telescopic.Once you have used modular you wont go back.they are however better suited to more repetitive work ,not so much domestic.Also because they are sections you can buy up to the size you want and add on as you go .You do have to learn how to get the best out of them though.Finally please DONT BUY A TREE  TRUNK OF A POLE.

Telescopic poles will alway be a first choice for easy of use and speed, But for weight T OVER 30 FT SUPERLITE 2 IS IMO THE BEST i HAVE SEEN.

Modular pole have there place on repetative work and high work only or they will cost you time and money if you listen to thge other comment posted, modular poles are far slower or standard 2/3 storey houses.

I have to say Alex's pole is the top of the poles for height and weight meaning non domestic/small commercials this would be a pole of choice

how strange,i did refer in my post to being better suited to repetitive work,by definition,commercial.the original post stated that he was looking for" maximum height "and that weight was a factor.I thi nk if you read my post with close regards to the original i have answered precisely what was asked,in fact you agree with some of my points.I do not use a modular on domestic for the same reasons you state but some cleaners do ,personal choice i suppose,and how your work is organised. apology accepted.!

emporium ultralite has been improved with extra carbon wrap now and its the cheaper of the 2 and always in stock , had mine for about a year without any probs , oh apart from standing on a couple of sections , regards alan

I've heard other people breaking sections like no tomorrow, don't know what to think about them now. 

Anyway, yea for domestic a telescopic would be faster, but then again, I really wouldn't mind spending a couple of minutes extra for using a feather light pole, then using a pole that's almost 3 times as light.

hi i have the emporium but have gleaned that the sl is better.The only proof i have is that if you look at the gardiners video it shows the sl being lifted from the ground at 40 foot long,something not advised for the emporium!In fact i have had to fix my brush to section no 5 (so i have lost 4 sections because it is so flimsy until this section)I have also had problems with breakages caused by having to use so much force to get them apart,no advice was given until i phoned!

i'm starting to like the look of the gardiner pole. on the video it doesn't seem to take very long to add / remove sections. i'm thinking of getting the 35ft then adding on as and when i require em. they say they keep sections in stock. anyone ordered additional sections? if so how long they take to deliver?

If you want the best pole at regular height the the SL-X by gardiners is brill.  It's 25ft of pole and very rigid.  I've never used a modular pole as I have no need for the height, but hear that for above 30ft then they are the bee's knees, all though many use them all the time.  You could get both the SL-X and the SL35 for under a grand (ouch).  For regular work 1-2-3 story work the SL-X is unbeatable, in my opinion.

I would recommend a SL-2 for height for lightness and for health reasons although unfortunately it is a modular pole. I recommend a Facelift up to 44ft if you're after a telescopic pole.

Only my opinion, but for cf good value for money, very very rigid and light with a nice closed length. However I've not tried out other cf poles, I just made my decision to buy from the comparisons that have been put on this site.  I hear facelift are great as well, which is what I was aiming for before the SL-X came out, but it's more expensive and there are some facelift users that have defected to the SL-X as they feel it is better.
