i only have a tank on van and if i have to move more than a few yards i turn pump off and de pressurize system, first week of using the van mount the hose reel fell over in the back (my fault ::)testing diy baffles) knocked the brass hozelok off the elbow and it was 5 miles later that i discovered it >:(
do large di vessels have to "pressure up" ??? is that why you leave the system pressured

I leave mine pressured up but i wait till the pump stops.. then i turn the Varistream off and shut the water off at the tank... Never had a problem and if i the knocked the connection off then you only lose the water thats in the pipe..

Cant agree more.... why run your ro water through a di while cleaning..
If you have a static system then just put the pure straight into your van tank and use it without the agro of air locks..
But if you have your ro and di all fitted up in your van then do the same and then you have the option to disconnect your di and top up if you need it..

sry for double post , I have ro 4040 and 2 di's in van all before pump, why people would want to trust di after pump is beyond me.

Not with these babies, they have a feature that 100% prevents any accidental disconnection! As for brass wearing, they only get touched three times per year for resin change! I still don't understand why people have any trouble with air/leaks etc. I have two 11ltr on van & they work perfectly, especially now with digital varistream set up to perfection! ;)

How can i adapt my di so that it runs on my static system?

just connect it up after the RO, then onto your static tank in the garage

you know where you will end up buying them fittings

google altecweb

you will find the connections that screw into your DI cylinder OR they will change the  pipe size

Thanks Matt, still don't know what i'm looking for. I suppose it's a John Guest inlet fitting going into a three quarter inch female. So it would have a threaded male one side and the push fit on 'tother.
