Carpet repairs
« on: February 15, 2005, 11:21:31 pm »
Hi all,
Can anyone point me in the right direction, on a lot of my commercial cleans l'm asked to repair seams or stretch carpets to remove buckleing. For this l used to ask a local carpet fitter who has now retired.
So recently l've been using another carpet fitter who is totally unreliable, so l'm toying with the idea of doing it myself.
l would like to enrole on a course to learn these repairs or even how to fit carpets as customers  ask if l can supply and fit new carpets from time to time.
Can anyone suggest a course for me in the midlands area please.

 Kind regards rob-s

Agree with Stu on this, take the carpet repair school at Alltec, and if John is running it, you will have a great day.
I started fitting/repairing carpets myself after my carpet fitter retired and then I had to sub out. Nightmare getting a good fitter.
I rate carpet fitters the second most unrealiable contractors, plumbers always come top!

Rob.
I dont know if they still do specific courses, but many years ago I did a more intense course than generally available, including carpet manufacture, construction and instalation at the Kidderminster Textile College.
