Trev hasn't been seen in ages, and Gilesy...well I can't say too much, but he won't be here very often at all for a while...

Tosh might tell you if you're nice.

Window Washers                           does what it says on the tin

Wally The Window Washer            just plain silly but folk will remember it

Reflection Window Cleaning           dont make sence. mirrors reflect not windows. o.k some windows do to if the light is right but if you played mallets mallets and timmy mallet said 'refeliction' you would say 'mirror'

Eco Window Cleaning                      wfp is far from eco friendly.

my dads company have what i think is a great name. 4 corners cleaning ltd

To me, the name is irrelevant.

Its what you build BEHIND that name that counts.

Examples -

Google - you want to know something? 'google it'

M&S - quality products...but at a premium

Aldi - cheap, but not necessarily inferior quality

Intial Services - the name means nothing...the 'brand' speaks volumes.

OCS - well, do I need to say any more?

Heres just one more....

Ratners Jewelers - a joke. inferior quality. crap product. overpriced.

The name in and of itself means very little. Its what YOU build onto that name. Nobody had heard of Google before Google MADE you remember their name  ;)

Ratners was a well established high street jeweler until the MD made his famous (infamous!) speech. He destroyed the 'brand' overnight.

Eco Window Cleaning                      wfp is far from eco friendly.

Ohh you are so very wrong my friend 60% of my water comes from rainwater harvesting.

Because of the bucket loads of rain weve been having lately means im using 100% of the rainwater at the minute.

I have 2 x 1000 litre ibcs full of rainwater. :-*

It is not eco at all, what about the cost of transporting the weight of the water, surely the most eco method is to use the customers own water.

Are you trad or wfp?

The eco bit is meant to imply that we use pure water not fairy, and i carpet clean too using micro splitters which are very eco friendly. Do your home work before opening it.

wfp

I thought of the eco angle , but if you need a shell tanker following you around then how can it be.

The most eco round would be have all your jobs within walking distance and use wooden ladders from local sustainable scources.

also this would give you virtually 99% gross profit.

I can not believe you are basically slating wfp as non eco friendly, are you trying to give wfp a bad name?
For the newbies on here your not sending out the right signal to noise ratio dave.

And how many wfp operators use harvested rainwater? "do you dave"

Might as well call yourself greenpeace window cleaning! The eco thing is just a gimmick but is it lost on the general public. Do they really care that you are eco friendly. Out of the list on the poll I actually think window washers is the best. Straight to the point you know what the company does - washes windows. I suppose from a marketing point of view that one is the easiest to promote - I like it. (don't tell Ian I said that though - his ego will be through the roof!!!)

In some ways dave is more eco friendly than you and I. He is DI only therefore no waste water! Don't know about you but sometimes when I see what goes down the drain waste wise it does get me down.

wfp isn't realy that eco friendly even if you harvest rain water, because of what Dave said, you consume more fuel and your van wears more, so in the end, wfp isn't as eco friendly as trad. (If you want to be nitpicky) Eco is just cashing in on a buzzword nowadays, eco this, green this, global warming that. I don't see how you can be Eco with window cleaning. If you had an electric van, okay.

If you had an electric van, okay.

Thats not 'green' though. Electricity production is not eco-friendly in any way whatsoever.

The rain water does go down the drain if you don't harvest it lololol Therefore i dont wast water or use it from the tap very often. If water metering becomes compulsory in the future then you will all have to switch to harvesting or back to the bucket squad ;D

Also i run my van on bio diesel which is very eco friendly.

That makes no sense. I was talking about the waste from the ro! Also what about the filters etc? You cant recycle them so what about that. Really it's all swings and roundabouts. As tim said Eco is just a buzz word. Harvesting a bit of rain water wont do a thing to reduce your carbon footprint.  Weigh up all the factors and in reality nether methods are more eco friendly than the other.
