« on: August 28, 2008, 09:44:02 pm »
I have just had a quote for doing my VAT accounts for £40 a month , how much do you pay ?
I am getting too old to be around people who  don't understand the concept of  loyalty and honesty.

In Ireland the VAT threshold is much MUCH lower.

Its good though IMO to be VAT registered even if you are a little below the limit. When you're going for the commercial work it makes you look that much more professional.

Good point , but in the long run I think a good accountant can save you money , and I dont leave anything to chance !  8)

My accountant saved me more money than she charged me last year, and I've high hopes she'll do the same this year!

An accountant can save you money, but not on VAT. VAT is chargeable to the customer and payable to HMRC. As mentioned a spreadsheet done by yourself at time cost rather than money cost, and then just let your accountant do the rest. ;D
