Non payers
« on: August 27, 2008, 08:43:52 pm »
Have you got any? I mean jobs you've done and NEVER been paid, i've got one that deliberately held back then moved, another who won't answer the door (kids looking out of the top windows) another one who's had two cleans and has never paid and several more like her.

I have another that does pay, but lets me wait outside for a full ten minutes whilst she looks for her chequebook. I can barely speak to her when she finally hands it over.

dont wait post a ticket and get her to send it and explain why if she asks, this is what I would do.

I got caught out a while back. Was owed for three cleans and got to the point of sending letters etc to no avail. I went away for a week and one of my sons did a couple of days for me. He told me when I got back that he had picked up a "new" job. You've guessed it! It was the people who owed me for the 3 cleans. They obviously thought there was a new window cleaner in the area. At least he got paid for the clean he did. They still won't answer the door to me though.

Found that if you send a relative to the door at an odd time of day they are more likely to answer the door - you can then ask for your money

When I start to clean a new account I explain I expect payment within 7 days ! I charge double for the first clean ( which includes wiping round the frames with a microfibre )  If they do not send a cheque within the time allowed , I visit the house to ask for the money and explain that if they cant send me the money within 7 days next time , then I wont be coming back !  ;D
I am getting too old to be around people who  don't understand the concept of  loyalty and honesty.

No customer ever gets cleaned if they owe me for the last clean and after the money is handed over I drop them.
Bad payers never turn into good payers.

Two of the customers that I did today have moved without telling me they were going, my slips have my name, address, phone numbers and e-mail.
I found out later that one of them that owed me for the last clean has been repossessed.
It's so annoying when people can treat us with so little consideration.

they only bother telling the gas electric and phone,we are not on the list, worst is when you dont realise stright away and you clean a few windows for nothing

And that is usually the case WFP, doing the tops first, you don't see that the place is empty.

Are you going to be chasing these up dai, if you can find them?
Do you get on with the postman in that area? Because they know where everyone has gone.
