i asked my mate that question the other day as he is a manager at  logistics depot , he said they were pretty reliable after 2002 once they sorted out the electrics, they then changed to the new ldv and they are always breaking down

I have one m8 - 2001 Y reg newer shape had it about a 15 months now and no problems at all seems to be reasonable on fuel but mines only 75bhp and can be sluggish when fully loaded so I would recommend going for a faster one.

I have one the 100 model only had it a month or so so no problems with it
It drives well and you hardly notice the weight in the back i have a 650 ltr tank in the back and it pulls well as for looks i dont think they look ugly and to be honest it really doesnt matter as long as the vehicle does the job and the Transit does
