I am taking delivery of a Berlngo tomorrow, but it is the old model - its cheap now!

Matt, I have just had rid of my Merc Vito - crap German thing, wouldn't touch another German vehicle, had mercs, audi, vw and a skoda (vw), all crap, nearly as bad as the rover we had.

Go to citroen dealer & get a brochure for one. The LX 1.6hdi has 851kg payload & has loads & loads of top features, THREE front seats too. This is a superb van for up to 500ltr max.
Best of all i've seen this very model for 9.5K OTR, YES OTR, inc vat + everything!!!! Only you will be privvy to this info though david ;)

Why thank you Antony  ;D I don't need one at the moment. I'm a little different to most folk on here i'm afraid. I would prefer to have the smallest van i could get away with for parking etc rather than a truck with acres of unused space in the back and a swimming pool of pure water for those massive commercial jobs that i don't have.

NWH you are funny  ;D if it has an 850KG payload then it will cope with 500ltr easily. How come you use a little connect van with 500ltr then? ;D ;D

The shocks and springs will cope but beleive me the engine won`t,i have a LWB turbo diesel connect with 500ltrs and it`s guttless. For 500ltrs you need a medium sized van ie vibaro trafic minimum,if you load a van like that it will drink fuel at an alarming rate,my van is going it`s just not man enough for carrying that amount of weight.I`ve said it before ignore the payloads on these vans, speak to someone who has 1 and get an honest opinion not a smarmy salesmans 1,payloads go on weight being carried it dosen`t tell you it will struggle to pull it.

Had a Citroen Picasso with 1.6 hdi and was pretty impressed. Wife's car has a 1.4 Deisel only three cylinders and pulls easily with five adults on board. Modern engines have come a long way especially deisels.
Some of the bigger vans still have fairly small engines with the extra body weight too - what's the Vivario 2ltr?

its a 1.6 hdi though, not just some bog standard 1.6

s.posed to be 90 bhp and i belive is ca be mapped to 110 bhp

now thats got to be man enough for 500 kg
