advice on extracta machines
« on: August 14, 2008, 09:45:37 am »
I have found someone lopcal to me selling an extracta hot water extraction system. Its five years old but just been serviced by extracta. He's asking £895.00 for it. Any one know about these machines?

Gonna get a demo so will see for myself if the cleanings good, want to know if they will last a long time and how much the parts are etc. Going to see it in the morning so advice would be appreciated! :)
it's a dirty job but someones gotta do it!

It needs to be in good order and the excell model with one of their scrubba powerbrushes for that sort of money. They are ok machines and well built but only worth max £500 at the most.

They are a but underpowered compared to most modern machines and have not been updated since mullets were in fashion. (see their brouchere it has a man with flares and a mullet loading one of their machines into a Y reg ford orion.) Maybe that pic was taken recently and that is just what modern day life in the North East is like  ;D.

Seriously though there has been a couple of speedstars on ebay recently for that sort of money or a Rhino from Masterclean for that sort of money new...

Its got a wand, couple of hand tools and some cleaning fluids thrown in as well.

Not worth it if only 100psi, you will end up paying out again soon enough to upgrade..

Thats what I thought. Seriously considering buying the extracta 2moro as I have the cash and have put out 200 fliers today and just off to do a load more now. If anyone has a better offer for a hot extraction system willing to pay up to £1000 cash. anywhere on south coast will collect but need asap.

Hi Kelly

I would suggest a powerflite box extractor would suit your needs perfectly.

The construction is basically the same, ie steel base plate and fibre glass body.Very good suction and also has a built in 1750 in line heater. The heater gives it the edge over the extracta.I assume you want a scrubber attachment to help with the work load.If so i think you would be better spending your money on a contra rotating brush machine sebo duo/host etc.The scrubber models are very heavy and i think you my struggle to move this around.

Utilise the heat from the powerfilte to help with the cleaning.

Yes i do have one for sale but i live in manchester so probably to far away from you.

Hi Guys

I used Extracta for years and have a one vac Excel in the garage, the others kaput !

I found the build quality, pipes, vac set up etc to be far behind other makes, as Michael mentioned they haven't changed in years.

Alltec machines are much superior for about the same money.

Cheers

Doug

Bill simple job of drilling out the rivet and re-riveting. If you want bring it down and I'll do it for you. Give me a bell first to make sure I'm about.
