graffiti cleaning for coucils
« on: August 13, 2008, 03:21:43 pm »
Does anybody do this for their local council?
I asked if i could be added to the list of contractors, but was told they have their own team to do it.

Does this sound right to you guys?

hi richy   our local council told us the same some.   Four years ago, I asked the council to put me on the list for graffiti removal.    They use s.i.t.a. but they are not very good .     They wont give the little guy a chance
and we are probably cheaper.

   good luck  robin

Its much the same here - I think the suit who gives out the contracts must have a Jag, 6 bedroom house, 4 holidays a year and only earn £10k, be in the lodge that counts and know all the handshakes. SITA are the contractor here but I heard nobody else tendered at renewal. Do I sound bitter ? maybe I am
They do graffiti, gum and pavement cleaning - all reasonably badly

Same here the same firm that cuts the grass emptys the bins runs the land fill and prob a big fat b/h ,oh and half of them are ex council .
The trouble with most councils is there to stuppid to run multiple contracts with small local contractors who give better service and even better value.
RANT OVER Rob .

Ps we should start an online campain to all local mps and all else who can change things!

Hi

It's nothing to do with any lodge.

The Government have outsourced the NATIONAL contract to a French company (SITA) the council have no choice but to use them as the councils have been told by central government to use them.

S not only is the small business ignored, but it's gone to a foreign company.

Regards
