LOL,...

A good website that is optimised for search engines is defo a good way to get business.

A bad website is money down the drain.

there are alot of companies that do a "free" 3 page website usually its page 1-about us, 2-services 3-contact, some look tacky but ive had one done recently and its looking really professional, you do however have to buy the domain name, £10, and then pay a hosting fee of around £6 a month i think, worth it though. Search engine optimization will cost alot but will put you at top of searches, depends how much work you want!!

Mine cost £6.00 and then £4.00 a month to host and nought for search engine optimisation but I hit #1 on Google

2K so far  ;) I have it optimised regularly

But it brings in 5-6 commercial clients per week - worth every penny   ;D

Ours was done by Ian (windowwashers), cost me £200 and if I guessed how much it has brought in, I would estimate it has got us £1400 of work this year alone, and it's only been up & running for about 4 months.
Today I did a job from it for £55, nice big house in Devizes, crashed it out just over an hour.... superb  ;D

What a load of rubbish - It says I dont have any other sites running from here either but I have 7 at the moment, It also says little or no traffic but compared to tesco.com it may be correct but for a window cleaner in this area it does well. Good websites that look pro cost and thats the long and short of it. Almost all of my new commercial work came from this site last year. Put it this way I am spending 4.5K this year on other internet based advertising so what does that tell you  ;D

Always get new business from my site as do others, I cleaned a new commercial that came direct from my site yesterday. Good thing is this is is a global company and will be chatting with the person about window cleaning the others nationwide  ;D

Kev knows what hes taking about, and the search engine is by far one of the most important things to make your website work.

My website is: www.southerncleaningservices.co.uk

I've designed some websites for other forum members in the past... But just don't have the time to do them anymore.

www.puresolutionscleaning.co.uk

not quite finished yet needs a little polishing up and adding some new up to date photos, it replaces the old site i had.

I have about 400 enquirers a month, although its linked to various phrases from the company i use, cost is £35.00 per month plus i have four domain names linked to it, which optimizes the search engines they normally get me on the first page of peoples search which helps,

it takes time, i think its worth it ,yet it brings in more than enough to cover the costs of the hosting and monthly costs
