Shurflo pump
«

Recently changed to Shurflo whereas the last 3 years had a flojet. I dont use a varistream or a flow control valve so it on full blast all the time which i like as I have a large tank and find I can work faster.
However what i find is sometimes the flowrate drops. One minute its blasting out then it slows down. I 'm really finding it annoying.
Does anyone know what it might be or experienced it themselves?
Any thoughts
cheers

most likely the back pressure is causing the pressure switch to stop the pump then as the pressure drops it will come back on again.
If you turn the little allen screw on top of the pressure switch clockwise it will increase switch off pressure, turn it until the pump runs continuously.

I'm using microbore and I had to do a repair job on it as I ran over it and it snapped. When i put the point to my ear its making a hissing noise but theres no water leaking out. I suppose it could be sometihing to do with this.
Alan, it is doing what you describe(going on and off) so it could be that aswell or there could be a leak somewhere else.
