Nice 1 Amtech
« on: February 09, 2005, 01:14:20 pm »
Just like to say, out loud, THANKS to Amtech UK especially David.  ;D
My Sebo Duo died on me recently whilst on its side being defluffed :o One roller stopped and refused to go again. Contacted Amtech, where i purchased on Feb 20th last year and they said to send it straight in. I took it in on my travels on monday morning and it has been returned at lunchtime Wednesday. NO CHARGE FOR REPAIR
Anyone who uses Solutions will know how invaluable the Duo is and i am over the moon that the item is back on the van.
In this day and age where we hear stories of suppliers passing the buck and shrugging thier shoulders, at warranty repairs, it's nice to hear of a happy ending.
ps..........and it was packaged better than some new items i have had delivered.

Nice one Chris. And Amtech UK too.

I know that we have various excellent suppliers around the country offering a first class service, but your experience above also validates what many of us do, and that is to work with local suppliers. It's probably saved you a day or two without your machine and a lot of back ache with a pile brush too. Even if you paid £10, £20 or more for your Sebo than elsewhere, staying local has been beneficial. If you paid the lowest price, it was an absolute bargain.

Safe and happy cleaning :)

don't these things come with a 1 year gaurantee? all Amtech have done is comply with the law! and honour their gaurantee, nothing special about that

send it back in 4 years and get a free repair, now that would be something to shout about !

Mike,
They have done what we would all expect from a supplier offering a 1 year warranty ;D
Not all companies are as consciencetious or efficient though....... we have all heard of companies trying to wriggle out of warranty repairs so i thought it would be nice to let people know of 1 company that doesn't ;)

Chris, did they tell you why the brush stopped turning? I've got the exact same problem with my Duo, but I just stuck it in the shed and use my Oreck rotory ::)

Mike,
The belt had jumped off...........maybe i put it on its side too roughly while it was running or my fingers are tougher than i thought, as i was pulling fluff out of rolling brushes. ::)
Either way, I am happy to have it back so quickly, wether it cost me or not  :)
