Hi guys...

A while back I bought a couple of water meters...one is fitted from my storage tank so I know how much gets pumped into the van each day and I have another fitted inthe van so I know how much I use per day or per job if I am being more geeky than normal...

So guys I have worked out that I rarely seem to use more than 300 litres on a 'normal' day and on on of my full out days I used just under 400litres.

How much do you use?

I would use almost the same amount of water myself Dave. Im currently using a 400lt trailer system but im moving over to a 650lt van mounted system as soon as funds allow me. Id rather have to much water on board than not enough.

I too generally use about 300ltrs i have a 650ltr tank but never fill it to the top the most i have used is 500ltrs

350 is ample most days
tho i have a few(about 3) days when i need about 100 to 150 more

Just being curious, what kind of shut off mechanism do you guys use? Trigger on pole? Hip valve? Nothing at all?

both our vans will use minimum of 500ltrs per day, quite often one or both vans will come back for a refill at lunchtime.

On my own I will use upwards of 400ltrs to 600ltrs a day.

might mean less knackered taps

i use 8   25 litre barrels a day and have never run out yet..... i definetely prefer a lower flow rate and i know a lot on here like a high flow...

Hi Tim, i use a hip tap, but i can never stop the darn things from leaking! Kris, surely the low water rate slows you down? I think it would not rinse as effectively either!

most of my work is 2 weekly so seriously just needs tickling with an extremely effective finish...  its not that slow that it just trickles out but i used i high flow for a while and the results didnt seem as good...

treat hip taps careful try a cap over the schrader fitting(works for me)

if it drips from the nuts get some PTFE tape from b&q, homebase plumb centre unscrew wrap it and do it back up problem solved if not replave the fitting on pole, tbh these fittings are a pain in the bum I have to replace these all the time, someone please come up with a fitting that after a few weeks of hard use does not leak I will buy 100 off you

I must be lucky, use hip tap and rectus fittings, brass hoselock fittings, never get any leaks.

I gave up on these flow controllers ages ago. Great idea but i could never get more than a few weeks before it leaked or the tap broke off.
I've never tried a holster though.

ive fitted my tap to the goose neck just before brush that way i have no lead or connectors to woryy about.
i just have a short lead and use hose to extend pole , that way im not snagging anything, also an leaks dont go anywhere near me.

Me too, but now I also use a trigger on the end of the pole, so surprised how far a barrel goes now. Bloody things still half full when I go back to the van
