why after a day of using my xtel pole does it feel like my hands have millions of tiny tiny spinters in them and if i rub my face it makes my face sting and get irritated... is it just me?

i had this before, my face would not stop itching....i use alloy poles now, a little bit heavier , but they last longer....

my 17ft xtel is in a bad way i have only had it 4 months when it is fully closed the thinist pole has worn away at the neck so the brush head just spins.....

as anybody got any good thougts on a decent brush about 24ft, small when closed down so is good too use all the time and light??/

my x-tel is starting to give me splinters to but all g/f poles do once there worn even the the c/f poles, i just wear gloves , i found the best gloves for poling in ar the taskmaster gloves from- asda or homebase

Never had any trouble with carbon poles, don't know why maybe the weave in carbon is different to fibreglass. Extenders are dreadful for splinters. In fact they are just dreadful anyway.

Or get a decent varnish paint and repaint the bottom section.

Just spray a layer of clear laquer on the base section.

Someone recommended engine laquer for this problem on the forum a little while ago for both glass fibre and carbon fibre poles.

i dont get any splinters from the base section of the pole as this section is still as new ,its the telescopic sections sliding through the clamps where i seem to  get splinters from

im only doing a couple of days a week and the x-tel  has lasted me about 4 months and has plenty of life left,when i worked for a companywe were supplied with ionics 18ft c/f & 34ftc/f  , i was getting splinters from them within 8 months / 6 day week. the same poles in g/f only lasted 3-4 months before they started slipping

to get get the most life out of your pole, make sure you pole is adjusted right( not to tight to pull out and just enough to stop it spinning)
