SL2 First day out
« on: August 04, 2008, 08:51:04 pm »
I used my SL2 today. And loved it   ;D

I have to say I was amazed at the lack of weight and how rigid it is.  You could clean a window with one finger pushing the pole, and combined with the new dual trim brush it made life much much easier especially as rinsing on with the new Superlite brush is a breeze. I did two blocks of flats then a hotel with it. I didn't need another pole as you just remove sections until you have one left. Usually I get back knowing it!  My tennis elbow hurts and continues to do so for a couple of days after doing todays work but not today, I wouldn't even know I had it!!!!

The 12 inch G fit gooseneck and brush was also perfect on the end of the pole. Well balanced and easy to use. Good scrubbing power too.

The only thing I became aware of was you cant leave the SL2  parked against the building while you un-snag a hose as the slightest breeze will move it. However it is so light that jusy lying it down on the deck is simplicity its self with no strain involved in the slightest.

I have a lot of commercial work that would suit this pole. Usually I will break a long section into manageable pieces just because by changing to lighter poles you get a rest, but today I did all the tops and then removed  a section and continued to work like this until the job was complete. You could seriously use this pole at 56 ft all day and not need a rest!!!!!

My only question is why didn't I buy one sooner?

iv got one two by my only problem is taking a section off and putting that section SAFE in the bag(working on your own)
Do you guys leave the section on the floor for a sec while lowering the pole then put section in the bag?

get a golf trolley to put the sections in works a treat
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt

i used it yesterday for the 2nd time. I had a vikan rectangular on the end of 50ft and that was like wrestling a crocodile when i cleaned at an angle or moved around.
And i still haven't worked out the sections.
I end up leaving them laying all over the place. Go searching for a section only to grab a different one.  ???
I have sussed that over 30ft the sections have writing on them.  :)
It bent like a pole vault at 40ft + and i was worried it might snap.
I will try with the bentley it came with next time. Though i found the scrubbing power poor with the other i had.

Vikan on a Super-Lite! You heathen!  :)  You've only just had your Super-Lite so you are entitled to an upgrade discount on a Super-Lite brush, nigh on as light as the Bentley but a lot, lot better (although I spent two years working with Bentleys and found them pretty good).

Many users place the holdall with the sections in, in a convenient location on the job, sections 1 through to 5 all can slide into section 6 which helps you with the correct order when assembling the pole.  All other sections (extension sections) can be fitted in any order.  If I just want to remove one or two sections, I tend to prop them up in a convenient corner so they can't fall or roll away.  Another favourite is to lie them on top of bushes, generally speaking on most properties, even commercial, there are some decorative hedges, etc around which I find hold onto a section very well.  It definitely is something that gets easier with practise until you'll find that you don't even think about what sections to reach for, or where to leave them.

Upgrade discount?  ;D
I need to throw some money at the credit card which paid for the sl2. Hopefully in the next 2 weeks. Thanks for mentioning.
I've only used telescopic poles before so this is going to take some getting used to.
Cheers alex.
