I know what you mean, I drove to work this morning on the way it was £129.9 on the way back £126.9 glad I did not fill up on the way.

don't get your hopes up too high - unlikely it will come down any further.

besides, only a year ago it was less than £1 a litre - now people think they are getting a bargain at 121.9p

Bingo!!

And the govt seriously SERIOUSLY think theyre doing us a favour by not putting the extra 2p tax on a litre of fuel. All this when whatever you pay per litre that 66% of it is tax anyway.


If we still sold fuel by the gallon instead of the litre the proposed tax hike for the Autumn would have been approaching 10p a gallon, people would have been far likely to rebel at that; but because its sold in smaller volumes now they can get away with it, but it just means it SEEMS less tax.
Personally I reckon if they tried to hike 10p per gallon onto fuel they'd have had everyone out on the motorways not just lorry drivers holding all the traffic up.

If someone told you 2 years ago that you'd be paying £1.30 a litre for diesel now you would have fainted, I would have.

but as usual we all just go on and ignore it - the french on the other hand??

aye, im not saying its cheap by any means because it isnt, i was saying i almost fainted because i went to petrol station and the price was actually less than last week not more

did weekly shop at sainsburys , got a ticket for 5p of each litre, price at pump was 123.9 so filled up , 70 odd litres at 118.9  , still way to dear though, but its a start.

Those 5p per litre deals are a farce I reckon. Of course yes you are saving something but its so small.
 you have spend about £130.00 to save £3.50, big friggin deal.

every body has to shop, i spend way over that on a weekly shop any way. price at pump was already lower than many in the area , and i could get our shopping and fill up a bit cheaper.
