MDR or a run-of-the-mill limescale deposit remover?

I tried both those on a bad piece of glass and neither got it all off.

Winsol Crystal Clear 550 .... that shifted it

winsol is the only way forward, the other methods are to much elbow grease for minimal gain

I bought some crystal clear 550 but not had the chance to use it, what is the best way to apply it and wash it off ?? :

i use gloves, googles, pot and paint brush. apply it sparinly then either rinse off with wfp or soap and blade it. works for us a treat

used mdr before doesn't work on everything, hardly use it in 2 yrs so binned it  :

I eventually went to my local hardware store, buying off t'internet is fine, but sometimes you just want to have whatever it is your after in your hands, without having to pay postage or going to collect.

The guy sold me a bottle of Kilrock K. Did the job today. The mineral deposits had been on the glass for a long time, coming from a permanently overflowing gutter that ran down th eside of the property and over one of the windows. So the deposits were tough. This stuff, Kilrock, did the job with ease, the whole pane was covered but it simply wiped off with a dab of the stuff on a cloth.

£2.50 for a 250ml containing formic acid.

Well impressed. Keep it in the van from now on and might stock up on a few bottles, it is cheap enough after all.

Cillit Bang,( the one for lime and grime) shifts most marks. I always keep some in my van.  Cheap and easy.

That's the stuff to use. I use it on a lot of things but gives off one hell of a stink when used in a confined space.
Not sure it will do the rubber seals a lot of good but if the customer is made aware that the 'cost' of getting the scale off may result in some very minor damage to the seal then that's that covered.
BTW MDR works fine on minor glass damage but not severe damage.
