drive cleaning hose split
« on: August 03, 2008, 10:59:36 am »
my high pressure wire hose for my pressure washer split yesterday. It split just before where it connects to my lance and fsc

Is this a common occurence? Do most pressure wash guys carry a spare high pressure hose in event of this happening?

Because it split and i had no spare, i had to reschedule the job and explain to the customer the problem. It made me look a bit of a prat.

davethe rave,

These hoses can tend to split more often near the juction with the lance or the pump,....... its best if you can get these ends of the hose covered and tapered with plastic or rubber at about 12 inches long (so they are more stiff) the next time you have them repaired!

look in the yellow pages under hydrolich hoses (the spelling might be wrong) all places that sell these also carry out repairs, a well known one are called pirteck but i find them a bit expensive if you do buy a new hose i would recomend getting a twin wired one they last much longer.
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt

always keep at least one spare,  it best to have around 3 or 4 sections of hose so if one bursts your not stuck!

yeah i've got a spare now drive surgeon, i just wish my supplier had informed me about this common problem that will envitably occur at some point. i would have bought a spare ages ago if they had.
Another annoying thing (one of many) about my supplier is that when i said i needed my old hose fixed they said its illegal to have them fixed, they said they have to be replaced. What a load of b******s, i'm supposed to get a new hose every time the end splits? i mean fair enough if they don't do repairs, but they don't need to lie to me just to sell more stuff, they must take me for an idiot.

Luckily i found a hydraulic shop like you guys said that does do repairs.
