who all has this in their van?

did you paint on flooring or or ply.

for me to remove play it will be a nightmare as it continues through into my cab behind seats and has been done very well. I was thinking of sealing areas where water can  access under it by using sealant and then going over with protectakote.

where is cheapest place for this also

I have just painted mine over ply the reason being it was done very well and riveted down so i used lots of silicon around the edges and anywhere water would get through i got the thinners as well thinned the first coat down and then did a second coat about four hours later (first coat looked crap)
Others might tell you to rip it up as water will always find its way in somewhere and rot the floor

Might as well not do it at all as paint over the ply. Water ALWAYS gets in,.. and the protectacote above it will just hold it in.

Is not the way to apply it,i would only do that in an old van i was thinking of keeping for a few years.

I had no choice, just bought a new vito which has a 15mm wood/plastic type floor. Had the sides ply lined but not the arches. I think as long as you seal the gaps properly it will at least help with any spillage. In fairness in my van at the moment i only get a few drips of water from the hoses, its not like your going to get buckets of water on the floor everyday, unless you have a problem when filling or a seriously leaking tank.

I would remove it, it is not hard at all to do, in my van there wqas a 3/4 inch lip above van loading area I removed the lot, re ply lined the sides and coated the floor.


tbh it is really not hard to cut ply : if its an old van you dont really care about them just use as ios and get shot in a year or 2
