have you looked at alltec,s machines, nice build, and they work well
Still think you should wait a few weks and take a look at all the machines under one roof,at the cleaning show

Who says Eclipse is the best, it appears to be a contender and Nick does offer a good service.
But look at the entire market including Ashbys,
Check out servicing arrangements who pays for what. Do you get a loan machine if yours breaksdown, do you pay for carriage if returned for repair, does service company come to you. Work out how much machine will cost over its first full year.

Find a supplier close to you it would be expensive to send your machine back to extracta if anything goes wrong with it.Look down every avenue second hand possibly quite a few on ebay if budget tight.Research research is the key i found to my cost Ashbys weren't at first look the best option for me.Contact suppliers they might have machines that have been traded in or know of carpet cleaners who have upgraded and looking at selling their machine.Good luck

As good as both machines are, I too would encourage taking a good look at Alltec. Are the models you're looking at single vac 70 to 100psi? Alltec do the Aqua 50, 2x3 stage and 100psi for about £1600. Up until a few very short years ago, this was the top spec in the industry for portables.

I know nothing about Prochem machines bit I have used various extracta models and always found them good strong reliable well built machines and Extracta always look after their customers to the best of their ability.

Ken's Idea of the Alltech aqua 50 is a very good one
Why not pay an extra £30.00 or so and upgrade to the 135psi pump
It will fit I asked
This way you will have a machine with the same performance as the advantage
At less cost and more compact for stairs, Lifting ect

Michel
I wasn't aware that they could fit the 135 pump in the Aqua, but a good deal if it does. I'm presuming you mean the model with the larger motor and not an uprated 135 pump on the older 100psi type motor. These have had reliability problems I gather, but "detuned" to 100psi as Alltec do seems to be a better 100psi pump than the genuine 100 model.

Hi Ken
I am not sure which pump it is. You remember at carpex we were talking about the aqua 50. I went to the alltec stand and spoke to chris who I belive is their technical man and he told me they could put exactly the same pump into the aqua as they put into the advantage. This was what thet discribed as being a new High flow 135 psi pump. With this set up it strikes me as being a sort of volkswagen golf GTI of carpet cleaning machines, small body but powerfull.

Thanks Michel
If Alltec were at the NEC I'd go and have another look. They're probably too busy to be able to spare the time :

Talking of Altech, has anybody out there been on their Fast track programme?
What did you think of it?
Did it work?
Is it worth it?
